2008 is the year of the p|s.

The Zoo Bar was as always the place to be.

A freakishly fantastic night of music. Crush the Clown began the evening of sonic mayhem with a tight set of melodically tight tunes. They are masters of the confluence of sounds and soundlessness and the echo of the space inbetween. We were in the Clown/Pawn sandwich and had a fantastically fun set with a great group of spectators and whirlers (or almost whirling...you know you want to). Cleaning the floor and wrecking havoc with the new Ghosts tune and an iconic cover of Pour Some Sugar on me. Sick. Once a Pawn dominated in two piece. A wall of sound. You could feel their passion in your bones.

Next up? August 24th at the Nebraska Bookstore Battle of the Bands, August 30th at the No Coast Pershing welcome back Kotter rally, maybe a couple in September (Lincoln Calling and Duffy's), and then an October full of love. In the studio this Thursday to cut some noise.

REVIEW: And also a little love from our friends overseas at TSM Radio UK. A brief sampling of their kind words: "With this self titled track comes a bombardment of U.S guitar rock, tinged clearly with 80's New Wave British influences. We are lead in by a bass rift which echo's of Joy Division, and there is no denying a strong Cure feel to this amazingly vibrant song. There are of course some American influences evident too; the vocals are reminiscent of Arcade Fire in their haunting harmonies. There is a hungry sense of urgency conveyed through the up tempo beats and hearty vocals that gives this song an interesting edge. "It's like moving in a dream, you're asleep but your body doesn't know it," with their well written lyrics and catchy melodies this American band are definitely stirring up some interest."<more> or http://www.tsmradio.net/review-pharmacyspirits.html
